Suspects in deadly Tel Aviv hit-and-run flee to Paris

Police investigate the vehicle which struck and killed a 25-year-old woman in Tel Aviv early Friday morning.

Suspects, both of whom are French nationals, kill 25-year-old woman, flee scene of the crime and escape to Paris; Israeli police have turned to Interpol for help in extraditing the two back to Israel for trial.

A driver who killed a 25-year-old woman in a hit-and-run accident in Tel Aviv early Friday morning was found in Paris on Saturday, along with a passenger who was in the car at the time of the incident.

According to a Tel Aviv police investigation, the owner of the vehicle was out with his friend, both of whom are French nationals, on Thursday night. During their drive home in the early hours of Friday morning, they struck and killed a young woman who stood on Pinkas Street in Tel Aviv, and immediately drove off wildly, running multiple red lights.

The investigation also stated that they arrived at an apartment that belonged to one of the people in the vehicle, left the vehicle in the parking lot, packed their belongings, and flew back to France with their family members.

Israeli police have turned to Interpol for help in extraditing the two back to Israel for trial, but state that extradition is not a simple procedure, and there is concern that the process will take time, if ever carried out.
