Sex Attack At Central Park: MyFoxNY.com
The NYPD says a woman was sexually attacked in Central Park and believe a creep who has groped and sexually assaulted at least 12 women in Manhattan is behind the attack.
The attack happened near Central Park West and W 67th St. This is the first time one of the series of attacks has moved to the West Side of Manhattan. In this latest incident in Central Park, the 28-year old victim fought back as she poked the suspect in the eye. he victime was treated and released from a nearby hospital.
The NYPD is trying to capture a creep who has groped and sexually assaulted at least 10 women on the East Side of Manhattan since May. One of the sexual attacks took place in Midtwon. Detectives have linked two more incidents in recent days to a series of attacks spanning 86 city blocks.
According to Police Comissioner Ray Kelly, "Detectives speculate he may be a kitchen worker because these attacks are happening at off hours."
At about 3:30 p.m. July 30, 2011, the man approached a 27-year-old woman from behind at the turnstiles of a subway station, lifted up her skirt, and may have tried to videotape her, police said. The woman screamed and managed to run away, police said.
Then on July 31 at about 4:35 a.m., the groper tried chatting up a 21-year-old woman who told him to get away and pushed him, police said. He then grabbed her crotch and took off, cops said.
In other cases, he has groped his victims, slapped their buttocks, and lifted their skirts, police said. In two incidents, he tried to follow his victims into their buildings, cops said. The women he has targeted have all been in their 20s or 30s.
The NYPD describes the suspect as Hispanic, between 25 and 30 years old, between 4 feet 11 inches to 5 feet 3 inches tall, about 120 to 130 pounds, with closely cropped spiked hair. He has been seen wearing a black turtleneck zipped sweatshirt and blue jeans; and also a white polo shirt with dark stripes, baggy blue jeans, and white sneakers, police said. He has also carried a backpack.

Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 0443: A F/W/27 was approached by the suspect, who sat next to her and grabbed the victim's right breast.
Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 0215: A F/W/27 was approached from behind while walking up the stairs at which time the suspect lifted the victim's skirt and slapped her on the buttocks.
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 2300: A F/W/24 was entering her residence when the suspect tried to force his way inside. During a brief struggle, the suspect placed his hand under the victim's skirt and touched her crotch area.
Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 0030: A F/W/31 was followed and approached from behind when the suspect reached under her skirt and grabbed her buttocks.
Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2255: A F/H/30 was walking with her children when the suspect approached her from behind and placed his hand under her skirt. The victim slapped the suspect, who then fled on foot.
Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 0530: A F/W/29 was entering her building when the suspect grabbed her, threw her to the ground and grabbed her crotch. The suspect then fled the location. The victim was treated and released from an area hospital.
Sunday July 17, 2011 at 0330: A F/W/24 exiting a subway station was approached by the suspect, who asked her for directions. The victim assisted the suspect and walked away, but the suspect then followed the victim into her building. When the victim realized she was being followed she confronted the suspect, who then fled the location.
Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 1428: A F/H/27 was at the turnstiles of a subway station when she was approached from behind by the suspect, who lifted her skirt and attempted to possibly videotape her. The victim screamed and ran away.
Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 0435: A F/H/21 was approached from behind by the suspect, who walked very close to her and began speaking to her. The victim told him to get away and pushed the suspect, who then grabbed her crotch area before fleeing on foot.
