Fire In Kiryas Tosh leaves 15 Families Homeless
Kiryas Tosh – Fire claimed an 18-unit apartment building at about 11:00 p.m. Sunday night in Boisbriand, north of Laval.
The 18-unit building at 130 Place Andre-Ouellette in Boisbriand was inhabited by members of a tight-knit Jewish community
The fire required the help of 10 neighboring communities. Three firefighters were injured, suffering burns or heat stroke. They were treated on site.
All apartments were evacuated but the number of people who lost their homes remains unknown.
The evacuees refused the help of the Red Cross; instead they are coming to each others’ aid within the community. They offered little cooperation to firefighters, according to officials.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and no tenants were injured in the fire.
Anyone wishing to donate money, clothing or dry goods in new or excellent condition can contact the help center set up in Tosh at 514-967-6922 or Rabbi Sholom Orgel at 514-969-7240.
