NY: Man Attacks Justin Bieber In Manhattan

Justin Bieber's crazed middle-aged fan was taken into custody and issued a summons for disorderly conduct Thursday afternoon

Teen pop star Justin Bieber was shaken up when a man jumped over a barricade at a promotional event at Macy's on Thursday afternoon and knocked him to the ground.

A witness reported Bieber saying, "What? What?" as the man, who was screaming, tackled him. Security men quickly grabbed the man and the NYPD reportedly took the man away.

Bieber quickly went back into the store and did not talk to reporters.

More than 100 fans had been camped out in front of the store for more than two days in order to meet the singer.

Bieber is at the store to launch his new fragrance, "Someday." He appeared on The View this morning. After the show he Tweeted, "gonna chill..grab a bit..then see everyone at MACY's for the #SOMEDAY launch. LEGGO!!"

It's not the first time Bieber has had problems at a New York appearance.

An 2009 event at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island was canceled after thousands of fans mobbed the shopping center. Cops busted an executive from Bieber's record company.

Bieber tweeted his fans to leave the Garden City mall because police were threatening to start arresting unruly fans.

"they are not allowing me to come into the mall. if you dont leave I and my fans will be arrested as the police just told us," he tweeted at about 4:30 p.m.

About 3,000 fans gathered outside the Justice clothing store on the 2nd tier of the mall, Nassau County Police said.

As the crowd surged toward the location, fans started aggressively pushing and shoving, Detective Lt. Kevin Smith of the NCPD said. That prompted the dispatch of 35 Nassau County Police units and several Garden City Police units to manage the crowd. Mall security closed many entrances to prevent more fans from entering.

Police canceled the event and dispersed the crowd. As many as five people suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
