Frum Boy From Brooklyn Killed In Tragic Accident In Las Vegas
The man who died after accidentally falling from the 10th floor of The Venetian's parking garage Sunday evening has been identified as Eli Tornheim, 19, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Las Vegas police were called by hotel security shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday, said police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer. Tornheim was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Though initially looked at as a suicide, investigators heard from witnesses and decided the fall at the Strip resort was an accident.
"I think there was some family on the scene," said Meltzer. "It appears he just leaned out too far."
Authorities say he was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was R”L pronounced dead.
Further details will be published when they are available.

My heart breaks for the young man and his family.
ReplyDeleteI remember being that age and taking risks that, in retrospect, could have landed me in the hospital, or worse. Why are some of us spared, while others meet their end too soon? May Eli's family find comfort in the good memories they share of their son and brother.

ReplyDeleteTo the anonymous writer from June 21 @ 8:44pm - - your post disgusts me! How can you possibly write such horrible things about something or someone which you know nothing about? This was a very tragic accident that this family must endure for the rest of their lives!
ReplyDeleteI was shocked when I read what happened, My heart goes out to the Tornheim family, they should only have nothing but simchas.

ReplyDeleteLife's really full of surprises, and this one turned out to be one of those. I wonder how his family is doing now, considering that it's been 4 months since this happened. It's such a shame that he only lived a short life.
