Three Recovering From Gunshot Wounds After Attempted Robbery
EAST FLATBUSH, N.Y. – Three people are recovering from gunshot wounds as police continue to investigate a possible attempted robbery in Brooklyn on Saturday night.
Sources said the three victims were being robbed outside of a baby shower near the intersection of Church Avenue and E. 48th Street in East Flatbush around 9:30 p.m. Authorities are unsure if the victims were part of the baby shower or knew anyone from the baby shower.
Witnesses said one of the victims was a 14-year-old girl who was shot in the head. The two other victims were a man and a woman. One witness described the scene as chaotic.
“Inside, everyone was screaming. Kids were all over the place. People were just going crazy,” she said.
Witnesses said one of the adult victims was shot in the leg while the other was shot in the stomach or side. The three victims were all rushed to Kings County Hospital where they are all expected to be okay.
Police have not made any arrests and are still looking for who fired the shots and why.
One witness summed up the sad event.
“It was just a baby shower that just went sour,” she said.
