Bloods Gang Taking Contracts Out On NJ Police
LAKEWOOD, N.J. — In the aftermath of a cold blooded execution-style killing of a New Jersey police officer, authorities are now looking for a man contracted by the Bloods street gang to kill more officers.
A source close to the investigation told the PIX 11 News that police have taken 50-year-old ex-con Donnie Dorsey into custody, who they believe was hired to kill a New Jersey police officer at random.
Dorsey was previously jailed for a shoplifting incident on May 24, 2009 in Orange County, according to the New Jersey's Department of Corrections. He was incarcerated on January 15, 2010 and was released on September 15, 2010 after serving eight months of his 18-month sentence at Bayside State Prison in Leesburg.
The contract was put out by a Lakewood area Bloods leader named Calvin "Cal" Pressley, according to the source. The contract is apparently retaliation for the police targeting all known Bloods members after 19-year-old Jahmell W. Crockam shot New Jersey police officer Christopher Matlosz as he sat in his patrol car on Sunday. Crockam is a suspected member of the Bloods gang.
Matlosz had been with the force since August 2006, conducting the midnight routine community patrol shift, and he had just switched to the evening shift about a week ago. He was engaged to be married and was respected throughout the community.
Crockam was formally charged with murder and possession of a weapon Tuesday, and is being held on $5 million bail.
Police are now on high alert and are continuing the search for the man hired to execute more officers.
