MIAMI-DADE: Police arrest man for allegedly molesting child in synagogue
NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. - Police have arrested a man accused of committing an unholy on a child inside a South Florida synagogue.
Jacob Jurberg, 29, allegedly assaulted the 7-year-old girl inside the Young Israel of Greater Miami temple in late August. The young victim helped police find the suspect after she pointed him out in a line up.
Police said Jurberg showed up at a party at the house of worship, located at 990 Northeast 171 Street, uninvited and lured the child into a room on the second floor where he sexually molested her.
Jacob Marmon, the president of the synagogue, said Jurberg was a stranger to him, the synagogue and those hosting the party. "When the police showed me the picture, they said they had this picture of the suspect. I said, I've never seen this man in my entire life," Marmon said.
Marmon said Jurberg entered the temple during a party hosted by a group in the community who had rented out the building's party hall. Marmon said Jurberg was never even invited to the party. "I have no idea who this," Marmon added. "He's never set foot inside this synagogue before this luncheon."
