Lakewood man extricated after traffic crash

LAKEWOOD — A driver had to be cut out of a car and taken to a hospital after a two-car collision here Friday, police said.

Shmuel Feitman, 31, of Downing Street, here, was trapped in the car for more than 15 minutes after the crash shortly after 3:30 p.m. at River Road and John Street, said Officer Robert Lopez. Members of the Lakewood First Aid Squad and the Hatzollah First Aid Squad extricated him from his car by cutting off the roof, Lopez said.

The Feitman car collided with a vehicle driven by Semion Gailer, 35, of Omni Court, here, who was driving north on River Avenue, Lopez said.

Lopez said Feitman, who traveling on John Street, "pulled out in front of the vehicle to make a turn." Feitman was issued a summons for failure to yield, he said.

Feitman was taken to Kimball Medical Center, here, after complaining of pain on his left side, Lopez said. His condition was unavailable.
